hawaii local news letters to the editor

HawaiiLocal.News values the opinions of our community members!

A few things to keep in mind.

Be civil. Hate speech, unwarranted personal attacks, or anything deemed libelous, defamatory, obscene, or excessively profane will not be published. You've seen how quickly comments on YouTube, Reddit, and Facebook can devolve into nonsensical shouting matches. Be better than that.

Keep your submissions to 500 words or less. You can go over this limit within reason, but anything 600 words or more will be automatically rejected for publication, even if it's brilliant. With that sort of skill, you should be able to keep it short and to the point.

Stay on topic. We will not publish personal diatribes or grievances going in all directions.

HawaiiLocal.News reserves the right to edit your letter submissions for spelling, punctuation, brevity, factual errors, and anything else we deem necessary.

Please provide a relevant title with your submission.

Attachments of any kind will not be accepted. Put your submission in the email body.

Send your submissions to editor@hawaiilocal.news and provide your first name and last initial (full names will also be accepted) along with your city and state of residence. In some circumstances, at our discretion, we may publish your submissions anonymously if you have a compelling reason for not revealing your identity. In such a case, we may ask you to provide us with more information that supports your reasoning for this. Be aware this is the rare exception, not the general rule.

If we choose to publish your submission, we will notify you by email within seven days after we receive it. You will not be notified if we choose not to publish your submission, but don't be discouraged. You are welcome to try again.

Submissions are limited to one per day, per person.

No advertorials or product plugs. If you'd like to advertise on our site directly, go to our Advertise page or contact publisher@hawaiilocal.news.
